Honestly, there’s no way to know for certain whether or not a delay with GTA 6 will happen. The only information we have right now about the development status comes from sources we know nothing about other than the simple fact they are insiders in their respective fields.

GTA 6 Pre-Order Guide: How & When to Secure Yours
Pre-orders for GTA 6 will probably begin following the arrival of the third trailer, especially if our prediction about its release date proves right. With just six months to go until launch, it would make perfect sense for Rockstar to make the game available for pre-order and give fans a chance to secure their copies.
During October 2025, it felt like the announcement of pre-orders might be just around the corner after a mysterious update to the PlayStation store added edition selection to the GTA 6 page. However, this turned out to be a general store-wide update and didn’t relate to the game in any way.

The game’s cast includes:
- Lucia Caminos – Born and bred in Liberty City, Lucia is one among two playable protagonists for GTA 6. She’s a tough fighter but is chasing after a good life in Vice City like her mom used to dream of when growing up with Jason being her only ticket to it.
- Jason Duval: The second player-controlled protagonist, Jason, comes from a background of swindlers and thieves; however, he eventually decided to join the army in an effort to clean up his act. - Boobie Ike: The famous goodfella of Vice City, Boobie Ike’s a street legend who parlayed local notoriety into an empire of nightclubs, real estate, and a record studio.
- Dre’Quan Priest: Dre’Quan is a music promoter who books acts for Boobie’s nightclub. He has always harbored dreams of going legit in the music world and finds himself one step closer to doing just that upon signing Real Dimez, an up-and-coming rap duo consisting of Bae-Luxe and Roxy.
- Raul Bautista: A seasoned bank robber, charismatic, and of high‑stakes ambitions. Raul pushes his associates to riskier heists and schemes. We shall witness Lucia and Jason teaming up with the veteran in a very reckless heist.

Police AI in particular will likely see an upgrade, as has been the case for pretty much every new entry in the series.
